LexiCAD Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

The LexiCAD website and service (“LexiCAD”) are provided by LEXICAD TECHNOLOGIES INC., an Ontario corporation (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use LexiCAD, what we do with it, who receives it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have. We are the organization responsible for it.

Summary

This summary is here to help you. By agreeing to the privacy policy, you agree to the complete policy that follows.

  • Your designs are not public. Other users and the public cannot see your designs or the conversations that made them unless you share a link. We use them ourselves in the ways this policy describes: to run the service, to give support, to study how LexiCAD is used and, unless you turn it off, for training.
  • Training is on unless you turn it off. Your content and designs may be used to train AI models, by us and by organizations we provide or sell them to, after they are de-identified. You can turn this off in Settings at any time. It is free and you lose no features (section 4).
  • The main companies that help us run LexiCAD are listed in section 5. None of the companies that receive your content is allowed to use it to train its own models.
  • No ads. We show no advertising, set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and run no outside analytics inside the product. We never see your card number, and we do not ask for your date of birth, gender or phone number.
  • You can delete a design or your whole account yourself. Deletion cannot be undone. Invoices, records of refused requests, usage analytics and any copy already taken for training can remain afterwards (section 7).
  • Questions or requests: support@lexicad.com.

1. What we collect

In this policy, your content means what you type, dictate, draw and upload, and your designs means the models, files, images and other output LexiCAD produces for you.

Your account. Your first and last name, your email address and your password (which we do not store in readable form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google instead of a password. We record that you accepted our terms, with the version and the time.

Onboarding answers. Your occupation and what you use LexiCAD for. We use these to understand our users as a group. Nothing in the product behaves differently because of your answers.

Settings. What to call you, your preferred units of measurement, any custom instructions you write, your notification, marketing and training choices, your spending-limit default, and your country and currency.

Memory. The AI may write a short note about your preferences (for example, the printer you use) so later designs suit you. You can see, edit and clear it in Settings.

Your content and designs. Your content, your answers to the AI’s questions, your designs and their versions, and the full conversation for each design, including images the AI was shown.

Voice. If you use dictation, your audio is sent for transcription and is not stored. Only the text is kept, as part of your draft. We do not create voiceprints.

Feedback and support email. Feedback you choose to send us, and email you send to support.

Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep an invoice for each purchase, showing the name and billing address you gave at checkout, and a record of the money and credits moving in and out of your account.

Usage analytics. We record what you do in the product and what it does in response: the controls you press, the pages and panels you open, how far you scroll, and events such as a design being delivered or credits being used. In the message boxes we record the timing and kind of each character (a letter, a digit, a space or a symbol), never the character itself; for dictation, how long you spoke and how much text it added. With each visit we record the device and browser details it sends, its network address and the approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from that address, and we read device details in the browser, such as screen size, time zone and graphics chip. The records are tied to your account and to a one-way code made from your email address. A visitor who is not signed in is recorded under a code made for that visit; visits before sign-up, from the same browser, are joined to the account when it is created. We use usage analytics to understand and improve the product, to keep it running smoothly, and for marketing and product studies. We do not use typing timing to identify anyone or share usage analytics with any other organization, and no outside analytics service runs inside the product.

Technical and security records. Server logs, and error reports from your browser containing identifiers and technical traces. We record the network address and browser an account was created from, and the network address a payment was made from, for security and to respond to payment disputes. If the AI refuses a request because it breaks our rules, we keep a record of the request and the refusal.

In your browser. We may use a small number of cookies for the product to function (section 9).

Before you have an account. If you type a prompt on our home page before signing up, we hold it for up to 24 hours so it is waiting for you after you sign up. If you leave your email address on a waiting list, we hold it as section 7 describes.

What we do not collect. We do not ask for your date of birth, gender or phone number. At sign-up you confirm only that you are 18 or over, or that a parent or guardian agrees for you. The location details we hold are the country and currency you choose, the billing address you give at checkout, and the approximate location worked out from your network address (see “Usage analytics” above); we use your connection to suggest a country and currency, which you can change. (Section 2 describes the general estimates we make about our users.) Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as health details or government ID numbers), or personal information about other people, in your content. We do not seek that kind of information.

2. How we use it

To provide LexiCAD (needed to use the service):

  • to create and secure your account and keep you signed in;
  • to produce, store, regenerate and share your designs at your direction;
  • to take payment, keep your credit balance and send invoices;
  • to send emails needed to run your account: verification, password reset, invoices, notices about a payment dispute or suspension, changes to our Terms of Service or this policy, and security notices. These cannot be switched off;
  • to answer you when you contact support. To help with a problem, to review a report or a suspected breach of our terms, or to deal with a payment dispute or legal claim, one of our staff may read the design and conversation concerned. Access is limited to the people who need it, and applies whether training is on or off;
  • to prevent fraud and abuse, including repeated free trials, and to keep the service secure;
  • to keep business and tax records, and to deal with legal claims.

Other uses (not needed to use the service):

  • Notification emails about your designs, if you turn them on. These contain no tracking pixels.
  • Understanding our users and improving the product. We analyse content, designs and usage to understand who uses LexiCAD and what they make, for product and marketing studies, and to find designs where the AI performed poorly so that we can improve it. This can include demographic analysis, such as estimating an age range from what is written in a design. An estimate is never an exact age, is not placed on your account, and is used only to understand our users in aggregate, never to make decisions about you. One of our staff may read a design that this analysis picks out. This analysis happens whether training is on or off.
  • Training AI models, described in section 4.
  • Marketing email, only if you tick the box to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.

We do not use your information to show you advertising. An account is suspended while a payment is disputed through a bank or card issuer. If your account is suspended, you can write to support@lexicad.com.

3. Sharing a design

If you create a share link, anyone who has the link can see the design and its name and, unless you turn downloads off, download its files. If you also choose to share the conversation, they can see it, including everything you typed, the files you attached (and their names) and your answers to the AI’s questions. You can stop sharing at any time; a link can take a short time to stop working, and a preview image already posted on another site may stay there. Shared pages are not listed or searchable on LexiCAD, and we ask search engines and AI crawlers not to index them.

4. Training

What happens. Unless you turn it off, your content and your designs may be used to train AI models, including large language models. That means the content itself: what you type, the files and photos you upload, and what you receive in a design, not just statistics about it. We may use it ourselves, to make LexiCAD better. We may also provide or sell it to other organizations.

De-identified first. Before anything is used for training or provided to anyone for that purpose, it is de-identified: we remove names, company names, contact details and other details that directly identify a person. What is left is the design work itself. Details like writing style are not removed, so there is no guarantee that it cannot be re-identified; if a design will contain anything private or confidential, turn training off before you create it. Once something has been used to train a model, or provided to another organization, we cannot take it back.

Your choice. You can turn training off during sign-up, or in Settings at any time. It is free, needs no reason, and you lose no features. The choice is recorded on each design when the design is created:

  • turning training off applies to every design you create from then on;
  • it does not change designs you created earlier, and turning it on later does not reach designs created while it was off;
  • we will not change this policy to extend training to a design that already exists.

Deletion. If training was on when you created a design, deleting it does not guarantee that a copy already taken for training is removed.

5. Who receives your information

The main companies that help us run LexiCAD are listed below. Each receives only what its job needs. The companies that receive your content and designs (our host and our AI, transcription and web-search partners) handle them on our behalf, and their terms with us do not allow them to use them to train their own models or for their own purposes. Stripe and Google also handle the information they receive under their own privacy policies, for example to prevent fraud.

Current as of October 11, 2026:

  • Amazon Web Services, OpenAI, Anthropic, Fireworks AI, Microsoft Azure, DeepInfra and Jina AI
  • Stripe (payments)
  • Google (sign-in, if you choose it)

These are our main partners. We may also use other providers for the same kinds of job, on the same terms, and we update this list from time to time.

Others who may receive information:

  • Training recipients. Where training is on for a design, de-identified content and designs may be provided or sold to other organizations (section 4).
  • People you share with. Anyone with a share link you created (section 3).
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where we believe in good faith that it is needed to respond to legal process, to protect someone’s safety, or to protect our rights, including in a payment dispute.
  • Business transfer. If our business is sold, merged or reorganized, information may pass to the new owner. This policy continues to apply to it until you are told of a change in the way section 12 describes.

6. Where information is processed

LEXICAD TECHNOLOGIES INC. is a Canadian company. It collects your information from you and, if you sign in with Google, from Google. It is stored with our hosting provider and may be processed by our partners in countries around the world, including outside the country where you live; no particular country is promised. While information is in another country it is subject to that country’s laws, and may be accessed by its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. The laws there may give less protection than the laws where you live. You can ask us for more information about a partner’s safeguards at support@lexicad.com.

7. How long we keep it, and deleting

While your account exists we keep your account details, onboarding answers, settings and memory, and your feedback.

While your design exists we keep the design and its history, its conversation, and the main files for its current and shared versions.

Cleared after inactivity; these can usually be generated again, which uses credits:

  • files for older versions of a design: after 2 weeks of inactivity, or once four newer versions exist;
  • full-resolution renders: after 2 weeks of inactivity;
  • exchange files for other CAD programs (STEP) and photorealistic animations: after 90 days of inactivity.

Removed after inactivity and not recoverable:

  • uploads: after 90 days of inactivity we keep only a small amount of them and clear the rest;
  • an unsent draft: 7 days after its last edit. If a design has only ever held an unsent draft, the whole design and its uploads go with the draft.

Waiting lists. If you leave your email address on a waiting list, we keep it until we have sent you the one email you asked for, or for twelve months, whichever comes first, and we use it for that email only. Write to support@lexicad.com to be taken off.

Security records (the network address and browser, and the record of accepting our terms) are kept while your account exists.

Deleting. You can delete a design, or your whole account, yourself. Deletion takes effect at once and cannot be undone. Deleted material is erased from our storage after about 7 days, and database backups are kept for up to 35 days. Deleting a single uploaded file frees its space but does not remove it from the design’s stored conversation; deleting the design does. Deleting a design does not clear your settings or memory; clear those in Settings. Deleting your account also deletes your settings, memory and feedback.

What remains after you delete your account:

  • Invoices and payment records, which we keep indefinitely as business and tax records and in case of a legal claim. (Canadian tax law requires at least six years.)
  • A one-way code made from your email address. We keep a keyed hash of the account’s email address with the usage analytics, and to recognise an address that already used a free trial or a beta invitation.
  • Usage analytics (section 1), kept indefinitely.
  • Records of refused requests, including the request, kept indefinitely.
  • Training copies, where training was on when a design was created (section 4). A copy is kept with a reference to the account it came from, so that we can find it and leave it out if you ask (section 8). That reference is removed from anything used for training or provided to anyone.

8. Your rights and choices

You can:

  • see and correct your account details and settings in the product;
  • turn training off in Settings, for every design you create from then on (section 4);
  • unsubscribe from marketing email;
  • delete your designs or your account;
  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask who it has been shared with;
  • withdraw a consent you have given (marketing email), and turn notification emails and training off in Settings.

To make a request, write to support@lexicad.com from your account’s email address. Requests are free. We answer within 30 days, and will tell you if we need longer. We may need to confirm your identity first.

What you must give us. To set up an account you must give a name and a working email address, and to buy credits you must give billing details to Stripe. Without them we cannot provide the service.

Complaints. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, write to us first and we will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or to the privacy regulator where you live.

Our legal grounds. We rely on:

  • our contract with you, to provide the service, handle payments and answer support requests;
  • our legitimate interests (a legal ground that lets a company use information for a fair purpose of its own, unless your interests weigh more), which we have weighed against yours: stopping fraud and repeated free trials, so that trials stay available to honest users; keeping the service secure; keeping business and tax records and being able to deal with legal claims; understanding who uses LexiCAD, how it is used and where the AI fails, so that we can improve it and describe it accurately; and training AI models and providing or selling de-identified content and designs for that purpose;
  • your consent, for marketing email.

Further requests. Where the law that applies to you provides for it, you can also ask us to erase your personal information, to stop or limit a use of it while a question is being settled, and to send you the information you gave us in a commonly used file format. Some records we must keep (section 7).

Objecting. You can object to a use we base on legitimate interests. For training, use the switch in Settings. The choice recorded on an earlier design stays with that design (section 4). To have a design you already created left out of training from then on, email support@lexicad.com from your account’s address. We cannot undo training that has already happened or recall anything already provided to someone else. You can also write to us about any other use we base on legitimate interests, and a person will answer.

Sale of information. To ask us not to sell information about you, turn training off in Settings. We do not track you across other websites.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use a small number of cookies for the product to function.

We use no advertising cookies and do no cross-site tracking ourselves. Stripe (on its payment page) and Google (if you choose to sign in with Google) run their own pages, where each may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Apart from those, no other party collects information about your activity over time and across websites through LexiCAD.

10. Children

LexiCAD is not directed to children under 13, and they may not create an account. We do not ask for a date of birth and do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete the account; sections 4 and 7 explain what deleting does not remove. A parent or guardian who believes their child has an account can write to support@lexicad.com.

If you are 13 or older but not yet an adult where you live: you need a parent or guardian to agree to our Terms of Service for you. Training is on unless it is turned off (section 4). Talk to your parent or guardian about that setting; either of you can turn it off in Settings. You can delete any design, or your account, yourself at any time.

11. Security

We protect information with measures that include encrypted connections and strict limits on who can access user content. No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you by email as soon as we can, and we will notify the regulators the law requires.

12. Changes to this policy

We email every account at least 30 days before a material change to this policy takes effect. The effective date at the top shows the version in force.
